All the help you need in one, 4-Month package! Learn more about how I combining Nutrition, Functional Testing & Acupuncture to help you achieve your dream.

Prior to commencing acupuncture with Lucy, I had started IVF treatment. After I had one failed embryo transfer, I was hopeful and eager to begin working with Lucy, excited that she should could support and guide me through my journey. Working with Lucy has supported me through an emotional rollercoaster, and I will be forever grateful. I have been successful in IVF and have given birth to a healthy new-born. Lucy mentally and physically supported me by providing acupuncture and guidance with nutrition weekly then throughout each trimester of pregnancy and this gave me a focus.
What is Fertility Support?
Understanding Integrated Fertility Support
Fertility support combines evidence-informed therapies to enhance natural and assisted conception. This includes acupuncture to regulate hormones and improve reproductive health, alongside nutrition and lifestyle guidance to optimise your body’s readiness for pregnancy. We also use advanced testing to investigate hidden imbalances. This integrative approach addresses both physical and emotional wellbeing, helping couples and individuals feel more in control of their fertility journey.
Natural Conception
The broad area of Unexplained Infertility is addressed. Acupuncture increases Natural Fertility by promoting blood flow to the uterus and supporting ovarian development. Acupuncture also regulates menstrual dysfunction and supports hormone balance which helps to minimise symptoms of conditions including PCOS and Endometriosis which can prevent conception.
Functional Testing is used to investigate hormone levels, vaginal health and identify imbalances and potential nutrient deficiencies. I provide tailored advice on Diet, Lifestyle and Supplements to optimise your fertility levels, support successful conception and a healthy pregnancy.

I work with patients using acupuncture to support and boost fertility and natural conception. This is a broad area and includes patients at the start of their fertility journey who have decided to start a family and want to improve their reproductive and overall health. I also work with patients who have been trying to conceive for some time and not managed to get pregnant yet or experienced multiple miscarriages and have not been able to carry a baby full term.
There can be confusion surrounding the label Unexplained Infertility. Test results may indicate everything is ok and very often people are told to go away and keep trying to get pregnant. Sometimes people have a gut feeling that something isn’t quite right but don’t know what to do next. This is where I can help. I help you make sense of your test results; understand what they mean and how they relate to your fertility.
Sometimes, even though hormone levels are in range, acupuncture and lifestyle changes support natural conception by optimising levels so you can get and stay pregnant. If you haven’t had any blood tests or investigations, I will discuss with you which tests and investigations are necessary to understand your body better. We work together closely and I explain what optimal hormone levels are and creating the right conditions and environment for a healthy pregnancy.
Then we use a combination of acupuncture, dietary advice and lifestyle changes to impact on and support your hormone and immune system. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine theory look to optimise your menstrual cycle and overall health. We work alongside conventional medicine to best understand what is happening and bring your body back into balance.
Monthly menstruation is natural, and necessary, not just for your fertility but you overall health. Period blood eliminates toxins and excess hormones and a yout period is required to allow a fresh endometrial lining regrow and support a healthy pregnancy. Some women say they have not experienced regular, menstrual cycles in many years. Different factors can contribute to this such as contraception and hormone imbalances that alter and stunt the body’s natural menstrual flow. For some women unsupportive lifestyle choices can prevent or restrict a natural menstrual rhythm.
We work together for you to attain an optimal menstrual cycle. Ideally, your regular bleed will involve no or little pain, minimal abdominal distension, no constipation or loose stools, no clotting or mid-cycle spotting or headaches and mood swings. You experience healthy and balanced vaginal discharge throughout the month as your hormone balance naturally changes. This is the menstrual cycle we work towards and sadly for some women this is very different to what they currently experience.
I use theory from the Natural Fertility Awareness method and the Billings Method to help you understand and recognise different phases of your cycle i.e. Follicular, Ovulation, Luteal, Pre-menstrual & Menstrual. Then you recognise when your body is most fertile and is ovulating and can time intercourse most effectively. You have increased confidence knowing and understanding your body and its natural rhythms.
The amount of eggs you are born with is finite. Although your DNA cannot be changed, Acupuncture can support your fertility by optimising conditions for pregnancy. It does this in different ways including regulating your menstrual cycle, increasing the blood flow to the reproductive organs, supporting reproductive hormone and endocrine balance and maximising the conditions for successful conception and implantation. Acupuncture helps you sleep better, relax and de-stress. All of these support your body for a healthy pregnancy and childbirth.
We work together at supporting your fertility and rebalancing your hormone levels. Acupuncture also promotes healthy immune function and supports your Mind-Body connection. The importance of diet and metabolic function are discussed and links between fertility, hormones, exercise, overall health and energy levels. We work to target treatment to support Western diagnosis and with blood tests and investigations to understand and maximise your fertility. Conditions which can impact on fertility and successful pregnancy include:
- Unexplained infertility
- Endometriosis
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
- Fibroids & Cysts
- Reproductive Immunology Issues
- Male Factor Infertility
A typical course of Acupuncture to support fertility is weekly or fortnightly for between 3 and 6 cycles but this varies from patient to patient and for certain conditions. This makes the treatment results more successful. We need this time working together to make changes to underlying health conditions and implement dietary and lifestyle changes. One of the strengths of Acupuncture is individualised treatment. It is only when I understand your current health and imbalances, I can best support you through your fertility treatment.
Assisted Conception
Acupuncture supports couples during assisted conception treatments including IUI, IVF & ICSI. My Advanced Fertility Support training allows me to support couples and individuals with a history of multiple failed implantations and reproductive immunology issues which are preventing conception, implantation and a healthy pregnancy.
In the 3 months preceding fertility treatment, prioritising sperm and egg health is essential. I’ll support both you and your partner to ensure your bodies are nourished with the vital nutrients for a healthy pregnancy and your baby’s well-being. When necessary, advanced fertility investigations and treatments are available to address potential barriers on your journey to parenthood.

Fertility treatments and protocols help people achieve their goal of starting a family. I work with couples and individuals to successfully undergo Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). To maximise the effects of Fertility Acupuncture, I work with couples and individuals for at least 3 months before treatment commences, preferably 6 months. We work together closely before, during and after your fertility treatment. This level of treatment begins the process of preparing for pregnancy and provides optimal results to achieve and maintain the pregnancy.
Going through ART can be a daunting experience. There is a lot to consider. Choosing the right clinic for you and the best tests and investigations for your individual needs. Maybe you are preparing for your first round of ART or have already had multiple unsuccessful rounds and are looking for things to be done differently this time. Various ART techniques include IUI, IVF and ICSI and some clinics carry out more specialist procedures for example Male Factor Infertility investigations such as DNA Fragmentation, Testicular Biopsy and Testicular Mapping. Some clinics specialise in treating women between 38-44 years and some clinics same sex couples.
This is where I can help you. We talk through different procedures and how acupuncture can support different ART techniques. Knowing which questions to ask the fertility clinic: their success rates, the different procedures and protocols, investigations and tests.
This empowers you to be proactive in your relationship with the fertility clinic and ask for the information that will allow you to make informed decisions – making sure you receive individualised treatment that best suits your needs. Fertility treatment is definitely not one size fits all as there are different reasons couples and individuals embark on ART.
There are now different methods available to support conception and pregnancy. For example, IUI and ICSI are variations on IVF, as are frozen and a donor egg cycles. I can speak with you more fully about the protocol you have opted for but the general stages in IVF involve:
Preparing for Fertility Treatment
I support patients when they are preparing for their fertility treatment by regulating the menstrual cycle and hormones, increasing blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, balancing the immune system so implantation is favourable and reducing cortisol levels which aids relaxation and further balances sex hormones.
Down Regulation (Long and Short protocol)
This phase involves taking medications that stop your ovaries from being stimulated by hormones produced in your body. It is similar to putting your menstrual cycle on hold. Your ovaries are paused with the aim of controlling ovulation and egg maturation. Depending on when you begin down regulation drugs you may have a full period or scanty, light spotting. Acupuncture treatment focuses on clearing old blood from the uterus and allows a healthy new lining to grow and support the pregnancy. Side effects from down-regulating medication such as sweats, anxiety irritability and headaches can also be successfully with treated with Acupuncture. Treatment during this phase can also reduce the risk of over stimulating the ovaries (OHSS).
Stimulation & Collection
During Stimulation multiple follicles in the ovaries start to develop and mature and a new uterine lining grows and thickens. Acupuncture at this stage supports your body by promoting blood flow to the ovaries and uterus. Treatment at this time can also reduce symptoms experienced due to Ovarian Hyper-stimulation and minimise them for the remainder of the pregnancy. When the eggs have matured and the lining is thick enough, the eggs are collected. During this phase I usually treat patients 2 to 3 times. It is at this stage the sperm is also collected.
Embryo Transfer
After egg and sperm collection, they are carefully selected and monitored closely for fertilisation and development. Embryo transfer will usually take place at Day 3 or Day 5. At this stage acupuncture is given preferably within a few hours either side of embryo transfer. IVF studies are mixed as to how successful the impact of acupuncture is at this phase. What is known is that acupuncture during this phase can regulate cortisol and release endorphins, which in turn reduces stress and promotes relaxation. Please note – I do not always treat pre- and post – transfer until day 3 – this is individual and depend on your personal circumstances.
Two week wait
Depending on your reasons for acupuncture to support your fertility, I treat 2-3 times during this period. Treatment is not solely focussed on implantation but involves relaxation during this stressful period, promoting sleep and wellbeing in order to maintain your mood and energy levels. Regular treatment may continue until the end of your first trimester of pregnancy. It is important to wait the full 2 weeks before taking a pregnancy test as the hormones given during your fertility treatment can give a false positive if testing is too early.
Fertility Nutrition
Navigating complex female health conditions and fertility challenges requires a dedicated approach. I offer a 1:1 Nutrition 3-month programme. This allows me to understand your unique needs and provide you with the right level of support and guidance.
Complex cases require time to truly understand, investigate, and provide the personalised guidance and support essential for achieving your health goals. While some symptoms may ease quickly, this approach is geared towards lasting healing and addressing your health needs through collaboration and restorative care.

Many female health imbalances and conditions simmer beneath the surface for years, and fertility support encompasses supporting other female health issues. Our bodies are intricate systems and, often, multiple aspects of our health are out of balance.
Implementing dietary and lifestyle change is a gradual process, and as we work together, your symptoms and health goals may evolve. I’m not just aiming to alleviate symptoms: we work together to identify and support the root causes of your health concerns.
My nutrition package is designed to be as unique as you are. It involves one-on-one contact, but the frequency can be tailored to suit your specific needs, it involves monthly nutritional therapy but this can be increased to more regular support if needed.
My package incorporates broad range of functional laboratory testing. As some tests take time to complete and get the results, we don’t waste a moment: we begin addressing your symptoms and restoring balance to your biochemistry. Once we have specific information about your health, we fine-tune your package to maximise your results.
Consistency is key on your journey to better health. Your appointments are pre-scheduled to ensure we have ample time to discuss, plan, and explore the latest health research and evidence related to your case and health. Our 1:1 sessions provide the structure needed for us to work together effectively.
Even the most motivated individuals benefit from ongoing support and accountability. Life can be unpredictable, and that’s where I step in to help you overcome challenges and help you stay motivated. If you ever feel stuck or lose focus, don’t worry; we can pick up where we left off in the next session and guide you back and help re-motivate you.
Fertility Testing
If you’re trying to conceive, it’s a good idea to first speak with your GP, who can arrange basic assessments or refer you to a specialist. However, private testing can often provide faster access to more comprehensive insights. In my clinic, I regularly run a range of functional tests that support fertility investigations and a healthy pregnancy, including Functional Bloods, Essential Nutrigenomics, and Discover Microbiome.
Fertility testing can feel overwhelming, but it also offers clarity, direction, and personalised support. Whether you’re seeking answers, reassurance, or a second opinion, I’m always happy to chat about which investigations might be right for you.

Can’t recommend acupuncture Lucy highly enough for anything to do with women’s health and fertility. She has a huge amount of knowledge and always goes above and beyond to help make me aware of all options available to me. She took the time to get to know me and was never judgemental. I have no doubt that the success of my IVF treatment was helped by Lucy’s preparation and support of my body through acupuncture both before and during treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Acupuncture improves blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, supports hormone balance, reduces stress, and enhances uterine receptivity. During IVF, it can support implantation and improve outcomes by working alongside your cycle or treatment protocol.
Testing includes blood panels, hormone profiles, vaginal microbiome testing, and nutrigenomics. These help uncover hidden imbalances that may be affecting fertility and guide your personalised nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle plan.
Natural conception support focuses on regulating cycles, improving ovulation, and restoring overall balance. Assisted conception support is tailored for those undergoing IUI, IVF or ICSI and includes timed acupuncture, targeted nutrition, and advanced testing to support each treatment stage.
You’ll receive a personalised nutrition plan based on your health history, symptoms, and test results. We work together over 3 months (or longer) to restore hormonal balance, improve egg and sperm quality, and support your body for conception. Some benefits can be felt within a few weeks. Additional male fertility support will incur additional hours of research and support and will be charged for accordingly.
Ideally, start 3 to 6 months in advance. This gives your body time to respond to treatment, support egg and sperm health, and optimise your cycle or prepare for embryo transfer.
Supplements are not included in the package price but are recommended based on your test results and symptoms. I guide you on what to take, why it’s needed, and review it regularly.
The 4-month programme is £1,800. You can pay £800 upfront and the remaining balance in instalments over 2 months. Supplements are charged separately. Full terms and details are available when booking.
I provide a compassionate, non-judgemental space for you to feel heard. We address emotional wellbeing alongside physical health. If needed, I can recommend fertility counsellors or support groups for additional help.
Yes. Male partners are welcome and often included—especially when looking to improve sperm health. We can arrange consultations and acupuncture sessions that support both of you.
I’ll support you through it with kindness and clarity. We’ll review what happened, adjust your plan, and re-test if needed. Emotional support, referrals, and a revised treatment path are all part of your ongoing care.
